This past Saturday night our church had a night of worship and prayer. There were are 20-30 of us there that evening and I believe that the Lord really blessed it. We started off the night with looking at two verses that the Lord had laid upon my heart for the beginning of that evening.
Psalm 100:4 "Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name."
Hebrews 13:15 "Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name."
Hebrews 13:15 "Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name."
As we come into His presence, we truly do have so many things to be thankful for. So we need to enter in with thanksgiving and also with praise for He is worthy of it all. And I believe that is exactly what we did. We brought to Him the praise that was due to His name. After a great time of worship, I was blessed to be able to share a little devotion on the following verses...
Hebrews 10:19-25 "Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching."
Hebrews 4:16 "Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need."
I want to encourage each of you to read over these verses again and ask the Lord what they mean to you specifically.
As the night went on, we were really able to pray for specific situations in the church, pray for one another, pray for those who have walked away from the Lord, and many other things. I do believe that the LORD really ministered to us as we drew near to Him! Praise the LORD for all that He did!
