PRAY!!! Prophecy Conference 2010

Hello Everyone!!!
We are writing to ask ALL OF YOU to please be praying for our upcoming Prophecy Conference that will be taking place this coming weekend in Herborn, Germany. We have been planning, preparing, and praying for this conference for months now and we are in our last week before the conference. We are asking all of you who are faithful to read our blog to join in and be a part of the work through prayer! If we simply asked you to pray, that would be great, but not enough. What do I mean by this? Well, I don't only want you to be praying, but to be praying specifically, so as the LORD hears our specific prayer requests, He can answer those specific prayer needs!
So here they are, I know that it is a lot, but let the LORD direct you in what you are to be specifically praying for:

  • For the Speakers: Amir Tsarfati, Edmund Cornonel Sr., and Robert Congdon. Pray for them to be empowered by the Holy Spirit to boldly proclaim the truth of His Word!
  • For the translation: For the final detail work that is going into the translation of the power points and also for these translators that will be declaring the message as well.
  • For the servants: pray for all of the servants serving in this conference to be filled with the love of Christ as they serve the people.
  • For the worship: Pray that the Lord would really use the worship to work in the hearts of those who will be in attendance. For an outpouring of His Spirit during the times of worship.
  • Technical Details: Pray for all of the technical details that will go be a part of the conference. (i.e. Sound, Power Point, Mics, Beamer (Projector), Chords, Cables, etc.) to all be working correctly.
  • Those in Attendance: Pray that the Lord would really prepare the hearts of all of those who will be in attendance during this weekend. Please read Matthew 13 and ask that the Lord would prepare the hearts to be those that would receive the "seed" of the Word and would produce fruit. Pray for Salvation! Pray for Rededication!
  • Flyers & Posters: For the church to really engage in getting all of the final flyers and posters out around the surrounding villages to the people.
  • Weather: Pray that the Lord would really open up the skies on this coming weekend so that there will be no problem for people to be able to get to the conference in any way!
  • Warfare: Pray that we as God's servants would engage in this battle in the Spirit and not in the flesh. Pray against the tactics, plans, and schemes of the enemy who would seek do divide or disturb in any way.
  • Wisdom & Discernment: Pray for the Leaders to really have wisdom and discernment in all that takes place this weekend
  • AS THE LORD LEADS - PRAY! PRAY! PRAY!
Thank you so much for joining in the work of God's Spirit here in Herborn, Germany!

2010 European Pastors Conference

This past week from January 19-22, 2010, I (Joey) had the opportunity to go to my second European Pastors Conference that is held annually at CC Siegen, which is just 40 minutes away.
These pastors, assistant pastors, and others come predominately from Western Europe. I would say that this is something that I definitely look forward to each year. It is so great to get together with these men and simply listen to what it is the Lord is doing in and through them, what their struggles are, and what their victories have been over the past year. Although it takes some time to hear from all of them, it is so amazing to simply sit in the room and be a part of it! What a blessing!

This was from the beginning of the conference, when worship started
On the first day of the conference, we had the opportunity to pray for 6-7 men who are stepping out in faith and seeking to start a new church plant in Europe. Many of them are in Germany, which is pretty exciting! It is awesome to see the kingdom of God advancing through these men! This picture above is a picture of pastors praying for Gunar Kapp who is seeking to start a church in Essen, Germany!
This years guest speaker was Pastor John Spencer who is from CC Gulf Breeze. The Lord really used him to speak to each of us in a radical way. He focused on most of Luke chapter 12!
Here is a picture of a break out session with the assistant pastors
Senior Pastor break out session
This is a sweet picture. Here are three pastors praying over a brother (sorry that I forgot his name) who will be taking over CC Hannover. Peter Will (far left) has been the pastor there for around 20 years or so and is going to be handing it over to a son-in-the-faith!

Kalifornien in Deutschland

Some people in our church were in northern Germany and saw this city sign and took a picture of it for us. When I saw it I said, "Amen! There is a Kalifornia in Deutschland!"
Thought we would share it with you!

Allianzgebetswoche 2010

Here is a short little picture/video of our recent Prayer Week here in Herborn-Seelbach, Germany. Every year all of the local churches in our village get together for a week of prayer. Each evening of the week we meet at one of the churches and spend time in some worship/ hymns, a short devotional, and time in prayer. At the end of the week we get together and have a service all together. Here are some pictures from that final service. This year Rebecca had the opportunity to go to a few of the prayer nights, while I stayed home and watched the kids! She shared how blessed she was to be able to go and how the Lord really ministered to her heart through these nights. I, in turn, was extremely blessed by that.

We Celebrate 7 Years!!!

On January 11, 2010, Rebecca and I celebrated our 7th year anniversary! We were so blessed by a dear sister from our church to take the kids for the day (most of it) so that just Rebecca and I could get alone and spend time with each other. We started off by going to Marburg, a city that is around 45 minutes away from us. This has become one of our favorite cities to go and visit. We shared a little bit of Chinese food to hold us over until we would be able to go to a special resturant for dinner. After the Chinese food, Rebecca did some shopping at H&M with a gift certificate that I gave her for Christmas. It was a perfect amount for what she picked out! We then walked through the Altstadt (Old City) and did a little more shopping.
view of Marburg covered in snow - absolutely beautiful
Celebrating 7 years together!!!

We want to thank my mom and dad for blessing us to allow us to go to a special resturant that we like there in Marburg. It is known to be a resturant that Martin Luther would go and eat at. That is pretty cool. Anyways, the food is absolutely amazing! We love it!

It was so great just being able to spend some time with each other, talk, eat food, have some hot chocolate and ice cream after dinner, and just really enjoy each other! I love my wife so dearly and am so thankful to the Lord for her. She is truly a godly woman that seeks to please Him in all things! She has been and I know will continue to be the biggest blessing in my life! I Love Her!

Update on Joey's dad

Heres an update on my dad's health: On Friday 1/15/10 he goes back to the surgeon for a post/pre-op visit. Unfortunately he is not healing like we had hoped and it looks like he will be going in for another surgical procedure on Monday. This will be an out-patient procedure. He is really dreading it BUT there is really no other option at this point as far as we know. Happily he will be fully under anesthetic; its the waking up and recovery part thats got him nervous...Thanks once again for your ongoing prayer on his behalf.

Possible Blizzard Expected

Snow blankets much of Germany, such as Steinhude in the north
German households have been advised to stock up on food, medicines and drinking water as the nation braces for a blizzard that is heading its way.
Germany's Civil Protection Office (BBK) says heavy snowfalls expected on Saturday could trigger local power cuts and severely disrupt public transport.
The snow is already more than 30cm (one foot) deep on the isle of Ruegen, off Germany's Baltic coast, ZDF TV says.
In Switzerland, heavy snow has cut the flow of lorries through Alpine tunnels.
The busy Gotthard and San Bernardino tunnels were temporarily closed to heavy goods vehicles on Friday, the Swissinfo news website reported.
Snowdrifts
Gale-force winds and drifting snow are expected to bring traffic to a standstill in many parts of Germany.

Measures are being taken to protect the homeless from the weather
The German authorities say the situation is exacerbated by shortages of grit for clearing roads.
Airports have called in extra staff and rail operators have warned of delays.
Households have been advised to keep three or four days' worth of provisions, including alternative cooking fuel in case of power cuts. Among the essential items listed by the BBK is a battery-powered radio, for checking weather reports.
Spreading south
In the UK, the worst winter for decades has led to a fear for energy supplies as temperatures dropped to -22C (-8F).
"What is being forecast for the weekend could lead to chaotic traffic conditions and potentially leave large parts of Germany completely paralysed," warned the Auto Club Europa.
In cities like Duesseldorf, Red Cross workers were setting up heated tents for emergency accommodation as up to 10 homeless people have frozen to death in recent weeks because of the cold weather.

Great Quote

"Wherever the eye rests, whatever the mind is conscious of, is as to first cause the works of Christ. His footprints may be tracked through all creation, and every blush of beauty reveals the touch of His finger. There are no flowers but have in them witness to Him, no marvelous and majestic landscape entrancing the vision of men but that sings the solemn anthem of His power and His beauty. In all the precision of created things, the rolling seasons, the dawn of day, and the westering of the sun, in the emergence of Spring from its garment of Winter, its procedure into the splendor of Summer, and its gorgeous robing in Autumnal glory, is to be discovered the power of the Christ."

A Watchman & Evangelism

Hello Everyone, I wanted to write a short little comment about tomorrow night's teaching. We are going to be looking at the second part of "The Call of a Watchman." We are going to be focusing on the Watchman & Evangelism. For those of you who are in the states reading this, please pray that the LORD will radically speak to His people here in Herborn. To those of you here in Germany, I really want to encourage you to come to this study. Especially since we have the Prophecy Conference ahead of us! I do believe that the Lord wants His church to be mobilized in 2010 with the Gospel!
In fact, could you also be praying as Benni and I will be hitting the streets of Herborn with the flyers for the conference and to share the love of Christ! Please pray for boldness, prepared hearts to receive, and the open doors of opportunity.
Thank you all!
