NEED PRAYER!

Hello Everyone
I am writing to all of you to let you know about an opportunity that the Lord has opened up for me. From May 13-15, 2011 I will be teaching at a youth retreat in southern Germany. I met the youth pastor of this church at the beginning of this year. Since that time we have been in contact with one another and he asked me if I would be able to come and teach at his youth retreat.

As I write to you, I am once again asking for prayer for this upcoming retreat. I will have 5 studies that I will be teaching. The theme of the retreat is "Ignite My Bones." It is Erwin's (the youth pastor) desire that the Lord would speak to each of us in a radical way and that the youth would be challenged to be radical for Jesus!

So here are some of the prayer requests that I am asking for:

  • Preparation - to really hear from the Lord in what it is that HE wants to speak into the lives of these youth
  • Preparation - for the Holy Spirit to be preparing the lives of each of those who will be going to the camp (really be led on how you pray for this)
  • Health
  • Safe Travels - there and back - around 4 hours south of us
  • Salvation
  • An Outpouring of God's Holy Spirit
  • Shepherding of the youth throughout the weekend
  • A tearing down of the "walls" that are within the lives of the youth
  • For the youth to engage with the worship and the teaching
  • For God's anointing upon Luke - he will be leading worship
  • That the Word of God will go forth and change the lives of these youth, which in turn would change the lives of the families and the church!
Thank you all very much!
If you could please stop right now and pray - that would be great!
If you could get your church praying
If you could get your youth group praying
Get everyone praying - we really need it!

God Bless you!

Amos Tonight

Tonight we will be continuing through the book of Amos! We are going to be beginning the first of a 3-part message entitled "Listen Up! I Have Something to Say!" Over these next few weeks we are going to be looking a 3 messages that the Lord specifically had Amos proclaim to His people. So I want to encourage you to be reading through Amos 3-5 and ask the Lord begin to speak to you through these messages.
Once again, if you are interested in listening to these messages, click here.

I do covet your prayers once again. Not only for myself in the preparation and in the proclamation of God's Word, but also for His Church. That we as His people would allow the living Word of God to speak into our lives and to transform us. That we would not only be hearers of the word, but doers of the word, lest we deceive ourselves. (James 1:22)

Get this Book and READ IT!

This past week I finally finished reading through this biography on the life of Dietrich Bonhoeffer. This was actually a gift that my mom gave to me last year, and when I received it, Rebecca immediately took it and read through it first. She said that she absolutely loved it and told me that I MUST read through it. So when she was done, I then picked it up and started to read through it. Now I will admit, it took me a little longer than her to read it, since I was also reading other books at the same time. But once I was finished with those other books, I really started to focus on this one alone.
What do I say? This book is absolutely amazing! If you are a reader and you love reading biographies, then this is one that you will definitely want to read through. If you have never read through a biography, then this is the one that you will want to start with.
I was completely blessed, encouraged, challenged, and stirred in reading through this book. In fact, I will never forget at one point in reading through the book, I remember saying, "Man, this guy was a prophet!" Now if you will notice, that is exactly what it says on the cover of the book. I had forgotten that it said that, but I would definitely testify that he was truly a prophet of his day.
There is so much that I would like to write about this book, but I do not have the time right now, so I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY want to encourage you to get it and read it through!

You will be blessed!

Why the Cross?

Tomorrow is Karfreitag (Good Friday) or better yet we should say God's Friday. God's people from around the world will be gathering together in church buildings, outside amphitheaters, in houses, underground, etc. to celebrate what Jesus has done for us on the cross. I know that it sounds kind of weird to say that we are celebrating the death of someone, but as most of you know, this was not just the death of anyone, this was the death of Jesus, God in the flesh. This was the death of a Man who did not deserve it, for He was innocent and yet He was treated as one who was completely guilty. The reality of it all is that if He did not die in our place, we would be completely condemned to death, completely separated from God for all of eternity. And so this is why I say that we are going to celebrate His death upon the cross. Because of His death, I now LIVE!

WHY THE CROSS?
Tomorrow morning we are going to be having our service at 10:30 and we are going to consider this question, "Why the Cross?" Once again I want to ask that you would please be in prayer, not only for myself, but also for all of those who will be proclaiming forth the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Pray that we would be faithful to proclaim the truth of who Jesus is and what He did for us! Pray for salvation - that the lost would realize that they are in need of a Savior! Please read 2 Corinthians 4:4 and pray against the god of this age.

INVITE SOMEONE
I also want to encourage you once again to invite someone. Wherever you will be going to attend a Good Friday Service. Invite someone. Bring someone. People need to hear the Gospel. This is the greatest time to bring them!

God Bless You!

Amos Tonight!

Tonight we are going to be continuing through the book of Amos! Last week we planned on looking at Amos chapters 1 & 2, but the Lord had some other plans. We ended up stopping at Amos 2:3. So we are going to pick up where we left off at.

THE FULLNESS OF GOD'S WORD
Something that I wanted to share with all of you today is in regards to the Fullness of God's Word. When you read through the book of Amos, something that you will clearly see is that God is pronouncing His judgment upon His people. So when you stop and think about that, it doesn't sound like it would be too exciting of a book to read. It probably would not be one that you would open up to and think, "Man, I just want to be encouraged through the book of Amos today." But you know what, if you know God's Word and you know the God of the Bible, you should be thankful that we have the book of Amos to read. Why?
Because we get to read it and learn from it so that hopefully we do not have to go through the same experiences that they did!
Well, I better stop there, or else I will be giving away to much of the bible study for tonight!

Please be praying for what the Lord would want to speak into the lives of His people tonight! We need to hear from Him, not me.

CC D-dorf & Mutter-Kind-Kreis

CC Düsseldorf
This past weekend we were super blessed to have the Coronel Jr. family with us. Edmund Sr. and Edmund Jr. switched their churches this past weekend! As you may know, Edmund Jr. and his family started a church a little over four years ago in the city of Düsseldorf. God has really been doing a great work there in the church and we are super blessed to be a part of it. Edmund Jr. taught out of Acts 18 and really encouraged the church about not fearing because the Lord is with us. I do believe that many people were blessed and encouraged. We also heard some great news from CC D-dorf as well. Edmund Sr. reported to us that many were blessed and that he had the opportunity to pray with many people in the fellowship. He told me the next day that God is really doing great things at CC D-Dorf!

Mutter-Kind- Kreis
Another exciting detail that we want to share with you is in regards to a new ministry that Rebecca and Petra Ginsberg will be starting in the month of May. It is called Mutter-Kind-Kreis. (It will be like a Mommy Me group.) This is a ministry that the Lord has really placed upon Rebecca's heart for over a year now and she has been faithfully praying and seeking the Lord as to what it is that He wants to do with the young mothers and children in our church and in our community. She has been attending a Mutter-Kind group in another village for awhile now to see what it is that they do. Throughout this time of prayer the Lord has also worked in Petra's heart as well and has really united the two of them in vision and direction to reach out to and minister to the moms and young children. And so this past weekend they made the official announcement in regards to the ministry!
We do ask that you would please be praying for this new ministry as they seek to minister not only to the moms in our church but also to the moms in the community! PRAY PRAY PRAY!

Mutter-Kind- Kreis starts on May 12!

Weekend in Stuttgart

A few weekends ago Rebecca and I had the chance to spend a weekend together in Stuttgart, Germany. Towards the end of 2010 a good friend of mine, Josiah Hart, had asked if I would be able to teach at a Men's Conference that City Chapel Stuttgart would be putting on in April of 2011. So once I knew that I would be able to go, I decided to make this into a Christmas present for Rebecca. I worked on getting babysitters for the kids and finding a place for us to stay so that Rebecca and I could have a weekend away, without the kids.
What a great opportunity it was for Rebecca and I to get away to spend time with each other, with some great friends of ours, and to visit the city of Stuttgart. It was 10 years ago that Rebecca went with CC Chino Hills on a short term missions trip to Stuttgart.
We were super blessed to spend time with Josiah and Anja Hart before they move back to California. Josiah and Anja have been serving at City Chapel for a few years and now the Lord is calling them to go back to California and they are still praying to see what is next! We love them and are super excited to see what the Lord will do with them!

MENS CONFERENCE
What an honor it was to come to the southern part of Deutschland and be able to encourage the men in the Word of God. The theme of the day was "Jagdfieber." There is not exactly a direct translation into English and so I will sum it up by saying... "What are you pursuing after?" This was a question that we were confronted with throughout the day. I was super stoked to be able to teach alongside with Keith from CC Heidelberg and Roland from City Chapel. There were over 60 men who came out for this conference. There were 6 churches represented there. City Chapel, CC Heidelberg, CC Sinsheim, CC Freiburg, CC Herborn (me - haha), and the only Calvary Chapel in Switzerland made the 3 hour drive to join us for the day as well. Like I have already said, it was such an honor to be a part of this day. God did do a great work of His Spirit in the lives of the men and He really blessed the times of fellowship as well!

** For those of you who might be wondering what Rebecca did when I was at this Men's conference, don't worry, she was able to go shopping for hours in downtown Stuttgart! **

Urgent Prayer Request!

Hello everyone. We have an urgent prayer request! We have some very good friends our ours here in the church whose mother is in the hospital. She is currently in a coma and has already had a couple surgeries. I am not exactly sure on all of the details, but what I do know is that Her intestines burst. Needless to say it is a pretty intense situation. Can you please pray for them!?!

Thank you so much.

Continue to Pray!

So here is an update regarding our situation with our old apartment. We need you to please continue in your prayers! The inspectors came and checked out the entire apartment and will now go back and write down their thoughts with all of the pictures that they took. I still at this point cannot go into details, so I am simply asking you to be praying that we would find favor in this inspector's write up.
PLEASE PRAY!

thanks so much!

Thank you Jesus!

Can ye think what must have been the greatness of the atonement which was the substitution for all this agony which God would have cast upon us, if he had not poured it upon Christ? And can you grasp the thought of the greatness of your Saviour's mediation when he paid your debt, and paid it all at once; so that there now remaineth not one farthing of debt owing from Christ's people to their God, except a debt of love. Christ did pay it all, so that man is set free from all punishment, through what Jesus hath done. Think ye, then, how great his atonement if he hath done all this.

Starting Amos!

Tomorrow night we will be starting to study through the next minor prophet book of Amos! Once again I am excited to see how the Lord is going to use this book to speak into my life personally and into the life of the Church here in Herborn. I do once again want to ask you to please be praying that the Lord would speak into our lives individually and corporately. We need to hear from Him! Thank you!

WEEKEND IN STUTTGART
This past weekend Rebecca and I were in Stuttgart, Germany. Stay tuned for a write up on what the Lord did there...
